Westie Puppy

West Highland White Terrier (Westie) PuppyWest Highland White's are commonly known as 'Westies' and as the name suggests they originated in Scotland.

They have a distinctive white coat which comprises a soft dense undercoat and a rougher outer coat. This top coat requires regular grooming and trimming or hand-stripping - Ouch! However, we have been reliably informed that this is not a painful experience.

These little dogs are very intelligent, they have the heart of a lion but on occasions can be a touch feisty. They are pretty fearless and seemingly forget their size when dealing with a 'situation'.  Above all, they do have a very affectionate nature. Apparently, they require 13 hours sleep a day so achieve this by following their owner's  sleep pattern and then, for good measure, take several naps throughout the day (much in line with most dogs). Some say it's a dog's life!

A lot of people love big dogs and others prefer small ones but there's something wonderfully relaxing about settling down in the evening, calling 'up' to your Westie, and having him / her spend a cosy hour or so on your lap in front of the T.V.

This dear little soul is irresistible. Can't be sure it's a toy and not a real puppy. Guess the acid test would be calling 'up' and seeing if there's any response! Anyway, you could spend an evening with this Westie puppy on your lap if you fancied - so what!
